Design and art — two forms of visual communication, with vastly different approaches. These two mediums share a lot of opposing qualities as well as similar ones. Alone, they work great, but together, they truly are a dynamic duo.
They go hand in hand when creating things in our every day life such as the interior of our homes to our very own Instagram feed!
When deciphering the two, you can distinguish them both through two main factors; structure and bias. Design is objective; ruled by systematic order. Art on the other hand, is subjective; an art form that is based off of the audience’s overall opinion.
To sum it all up, “art is meant to provoke thought and emotions, but it doesn’t solve problems.”, that’s what design is for.
